The plateable hepatocytes cells are specialized primary liver parenchymal cells, isolated from human liver tissues, depending upon customer requirements. These cells display a unique property of being able to adhere and grow on culture plates or dishes. These cells are used as indispensable tools for researchers in drug development, toxicology, disease modeling, as well as liver-related studies.At Kosheeka, these cells are tested for intact hepatocyte function, hepatocytes histology, viability and healthy culture duration. The plateable are cultured in specialized media and hepatocyte cultured conditions, which support their optimum growth. The medium is also supplemented with growth factors and nutrients to maintain their liver specific functions and viability.

Our QC has tested the product for multiple passages in the culture (up to passage 5). However, number of passages depends upon the actual culture conditions, media used and handling.

Yes, commonly liver hepatocytes cells are cultured using William’s E medium with 10% FBS. The complete media is further supplemented with specific growth factors like hepatocyte growth factors, using an optimum concentration.

Yes, these plateable hepatocytes can be cryopreserved for long term storage.

Yes, the optimized protocols for the standard culture in the 6 well plate requires around 5,000 cells per well. Plating more cells per well may create a problem, as less cells may be attached at higher density.
