Mesenchymal stem cells obtained from extra embryonic tissues are marked with higher degree of pluripotency, and better differentiation capacity; compared to their other counterparts. With their remarkable expansion potential and high therapeutic values, these cells are much in demand for large scale use in clinical research, 3D culture and production of by-products in the industry set ups.The cells can be easily isolated from extra embryonic fetal tissues, which is an ethically exempted source. At Kosheeka, cells are isolated from desired tissues without damaging their receptors; and are further expanded in the culture with optimized population doublings. Each batch of cells is characterized by the presence of markers like CD105, CD29 and CD73; a universally accepted range of MSC-specific markers. Our inhouse QC makes sure that each batch of stem cells produced displays a similar degree of transdifferentiation potential.

The cells that we provide are generally isolated from the same cord, and most of the time are at their earliest stages. if there is any specific requirement of mixing cells from different cords, it is possible at prior request.

Other than extra embryonic fetal tissues, bone marrow, peripheral blood, gingiva are readily available sources from which mesenchymal stem cells can be easily isolated. As a matter of fact, umbilical cord derived stem cells display the highest degree of potency, but cells isolated from other tissue sources can also be considered depending upon the applications and study requirements.

No, we do not recommend any specific use of media and growth factor mix for expansion of these cells. At Kosheeka, we use DMEM/F12 with a growth mix as a medium for expanding our cells at a larger scale. However, you can optimize your own protocol depending upon your study requirements and in house laboratory culture conditions.

At Kosheeka, we recommend our own standard source of transportation; which has been standardized for different locations. However, you can suggest your transport partner at your own risk.

We suggest you to go for a flask containing metabolically active cells; as you will be able to observe them immediately under the microscope post receipt of the cells for their morphology, signs of contamination, and other cellular damage. Once you are satisfied with the product, you can freeze them as per your standard protocol to avoid operational discrepancies.

If kept at ideal temperatures, without any fluctuations or freeze/thaw cells can maintain their viability for as long as 1 year.

We advise promptly assessing viability and checking the signs of contamination, upon receiving the flask/vial. Should there be any discrepancies regarding the viability and indications of contamination, please reach out to us immediately. If deemed necessary, we can provide a replacement of the product after evaluating the situation.
